Introduction

Our Graduate Department of Computer Science welcomes applications from
persons strongly motivated to expand the frontiers of computer science
and engineering. Established in 1989, the department has already
gained an international recognition for both in research and
education.
The reputation stems from various sources:
- Experienced faculty members with a wide spectrum of research
topics: architecture, systems, programming languages, theory,
algorithms, artificial intelligence, and human-machine interfaces.
- Modern computing facilities. We have more than 100 interconnected
workstations and file servers in our high-speed local area network
that accesses to world-wide networks.
- A sophisticated graduate curriculum: a flexible research-oriented
PhD Program and intensive educational Master's Program combine to
produce an excellent environment for both research and education.
- Close relations with other departments in
the Faculty of Science and Technology, for example, physics,
mathematics and electrical engineering.
- Our campus has a rich heritage as part of
Keio University, the oldest institution for higher education in
Japan.
- Our campus is located in Hiyoshi, a town located between Tokyo
and Yokohama. Students can enjoy both a relaxed research community and
easy access to exciting central city areas.
Above all, our most important resource is our students and alumni. We
are proud of them. They are active members of both academic and
non-academic communities.
Admission to our Graduate Program is granted purely on the basis of
merit. Once accepted the student will enjoy a stimulative and friendly
campus environment. We expect graduates from our Department to play
central roles in the rapidly growing fields of computer science and
engineering.
For further questions, please do not hesitate to contact any faculty
member.
